Concessions

Please note that if you are entitled to a concession you will need to pay on the bus, not at the ticked machine. You may also be asked to prove concession entitlement, or age, to the bus driver.
  • Travel is free for persons over 60 years old and disabled persons holding a travel concession pass. For those holding a concessionary pass issued in County Durham travel is free all day Monday to Saturday, however for those with a pass issued outside of County Durham free travel is available after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday.
  • A concessionary fare is available for students of Durham University from the Howlands Park and Ride site only. Contact the operator - Scarlett Band on tel: 01740 654247 for details of concessions.
  • Young people under the age of 16, who are accompanied by an adult, can travel free. Unaccompanied children pay full fare.
  • Smart Cards are ideal for regular users - get 20 days of Park and Ride for only £30.00, equal to £1.50 a day
